Join us for the Eagle Plein Air Festival, a vibrant celebration of outdoor painting, artistic expression, and community spirit in beautiful Southwest Idaho. This week-long event brings together over 80 professional and emerging artists to paint, draw, and sketch the stunning landscapes in and around Eagle.

What is plein air painting?

En plein air is a French expression that means “in the open air.” Plein air painting is the not-so-simple act of painting outdoors. Artist’s must handle shifting light, fluctuating temperatures, wind gusts, inclement weather and more.  The annual Eagle Plein Air Festival celebrates in grand fashion the contributions of plein air artists to Idaho culture and the arts. Our week-long event features several plein air artist workshops, quick draw competitions and features a signature Festival Awards, Show & Sale.
